My name is Daniel Flügger and this is my website.

I started this company as a way to share my journey and everything I’ve learned, and to collaborate with other creators to provide the best tools and education for this next wave of unprecedented opportunity in web 3.

My goal is to build to be one of the top education sites for brands and creators to enter the metaverse space. Through research and instruction my aim is to save you time finding the best solutions for your business, and for creators to take ownership and control over their work.

After studying entrepreneurship in college, I learned skills as a web developer to eventually start businesses, and developed skills as a marketer to build them.

But the businesses have been mainly physical service and product based businesses. It has been a journey filled with a lot of ups and downs, but one of the most rewarding elements is being in a position to employ people, knowing that the efforts I put in can directly impact people’s lives in a meaningful way.

I believe everyone experiences important moments in their journey where it is overwhelmingly obvious that they need to make a change. For me that point was July of 2020, a few months into the pandemic.  We closed our factory and basically most of New York City was shut down. It was the first time that I had seen Lincoln Center at night in the summer with the lights on, but without a single person in front of the fountain. Or Times Square totally empty.

I had been building two service based businesses which were basically analog- a furniture company and an interior design business.  The only digital parts of these businesses were the websites and social media platforms. Neither business was scalable in a way that was appealing- bigger factory, more staff, more (physical) projects, more time chained to NYC and more stress.

So I thought, what is the total opposite of these businesses?  If I could go back to the early web 2.0 days what would be exciting to build and have the most impact? What if these entire businesses can be integrated into a gaming, defi metaverse type platform? What do these industries need?

Lincoln Center – Summer 2020

It was time to build a completely online business so I could reach more people, come out of the shadows and contribute to the world in a meaningful way. I’ve always been someone who prefers to be in the background, the producer not the actor, the blogger not the youtube influencer, the developer not the marketer. And I’m not the only one…

Think how many people on the planet want to interact in these online spaces and be a part of a meaningful community yet don’t necessarily want to be on video, be recognizable outside of work, or have a YouTube channel. There is an incredible amount of pressure people feel on zoom calls and in front of the camera which has only heightened during the pandemic, and for that reason alone the next generation of the internet will be much more creative, expansive, inclusive and forward thinking.

Most people who have participated in various platforms being built, or existing ones like social games, often share what a huge relief they feel not needing to dress up, do their makeup or be on camera, and can just have a digital avatar represent them in meetings. It is a massive shift occurring across industries and we are still very early in terms of how it all will look, but we already have digital avatar influencers.

Brands could be represented and authenticated by NFTs as digital avatars stroll around mansions playing games.  With a completely new ecosystem, creators across the globe could take control over their work in industries like architecture, fashion, interior design and real estate. The music industry could finally (directly) benefit from the internet in a similar way the gaming industry has, with robust communities and authenticated and incentivized economic ecosystems.

During my search for what to do next, an article I saw on LinkedIn jumped out- there were over 20 million IOS developers and only 20,000 blockchain/ web 3 developers in the world.  Blockchain developers were in very high demand with some earning 500-800k/ year. So I went down the rabbit hole of crypto, NFTs, web 3 and blockchain development. I upskilled from web 2 and became a blockchain developer coding smart contracts in Solidity for startups, and eventually working as a CTO at a web 3 company developing a platform in Unreal Engine 5.

My goal is to share everything I’ve learned by helping brands and creators navigate web 3. There is unfortunately a lot of disinformation, confusion and (overly hyped) scams in the web 3 space. My goal with Trusound is to provide you with the most accurate information possible to help you scale and grow your online business by embracing this new technology.
